Shawn Locke, Owner/Technician
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from St. Mary's College of Maryland and a Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Northwestern University.  He has over 30 years experience as a musician, private instructor and repair technician.  After apprenticing in Chicago and working for other companies, in 2000 Shawn opened his own shop based out of his home and grew the business into its current location in California, Maryland.  Heritage Winds is the repair division of Allegro Music Service, a full service music store that offers instrument sales and rentals, private lessons and repairs.  The goal of Heritage Winds is to service the repair needs of the local community as well as provide specialized reconditioning services to the vintage and antique band instrument market.

The repair facility at Heritage Winds combines Old World craftsmanship with modern capabilities to bring you the best possible options for the repair and maintenance of your wind instrument.  Our shop is fully stocked with the best tools and materials available to the industry.  We are constantly upgrading and adding new equipment as needs arise and keep our existing equipment in top condition.  From minor repairs like pulling a stuck mouthpiece to full mechanical overhauls, Heritage Winds will take great care to bring your instrument to its fullest potential.  We got our start in the school band market and still service many school owned and student level instruments, but we specialize in vintage and antique instruments.
